I literally started in sales at 10 years old. That’s right, with my LORD as my witness, I went door to door offering lawn cutting services. If that wasn’t enough, by the following year fourteen kids from the neighborhood worked with me. Who would of known that a career would have been started at such a young age because my step-father was too lazy to cut the grass himself. He tried me out for years to see if I could push the lawn mower through the thick Kentucky Blue Sod that we had as our front lawn. I’ll never forget the first day I was able to mow the lawn. The next door neighbor actually called me over and offered me $5.00 to cut their lawn after I was finished. The next morning I woke up with that $5.00 bill still clutched in my hand, I grabbed a empty milk jug and went straight to the gas station. It cost me .43 cents to fill that jug. I went back home filled a smaller jug and along I went with my rake and lawn mower down the street, I saw the great Walt Whitman Theatre needed the grass cut around their parking lot, it was four foot tall, the grass that is. I made $40.00, for two days work. Nowadays I wouldn’t do it for a hundred. Acyually nowadays I wish I even could do it, however I am not physically able.
