Starting Your List by Offering Mini e-Book

Offering your mini E book as a gift or incentive for sign ups is a great way to gain subscribers – out with the Internet marketing arena this isn’t a common thing to do, so if your niche is based there, you’ll have less competition.

The only problem with giving away your mini e-book in return for sign ups is that some people will use a ‘junk’ email account – one that they don’t check – to sign up, and then never read anything you’re sending ever again. If you’ve got them to sign up for the auto responder, you may want to consider that you need to reach them via the book, or your very first email – very few people religiously read auto responder based emails, mainly because many people are sick of being bombarded with offers, and things they can’t use. Many web masters are now requesting that people use a valid email address and require that they confirm their subscription before downloading – and explaining themselves in the first email, before giving the download link.

Whether you’re within or out with the Internet marketing arena, you’ll need to structure, and explain your offer in the clearest possible of terms – people don’t want to sign up to an email list unless its worthwhile, and many people may not even realize that they are signing up to a mailing list to get something – or ever connect the two. You may find that this leads to spam complaints, or your list fills with prospects that aren’t actually reading your important information, so you’ll need to ensure that you’re offering, consistently, information that they want, and need.

You will want to make sure you solve this problem by correctly lining up the information in the book with the course that will immediately follow it logically. This will give readers a clear transition.

Selling products on the internet is one of the first things that comes to mind when a person thinks about going into business online. The business of selling products over the web is a very big business, and just about every major retailer in the world has realized this. Consequently, nearly all of them have created a website from which they sell many of their products to consumers in much the same way they would at one of their retail outlets. However, they aren’t the only ones who can make a good profit this way. With the ease of entry into e-commerce selling products, just about anyone can do it, and they can specialize in one particular niche to make a good go of it.

The opportunities here are virtually endless, and new opportunities arise all the time with the development of new consumer needs. What is important to note about selling products online is that you may not know just how many things are considered to be products. Think for a moment about this one: if it can be sold, it is probably considered a product. So, with that in mind, you can tailor your business around virtually anything you would like to sell. The success or failure of your venture will depend on how well you researched the opportunities in that market, and some of it may even depend on luck.

The categories of products you can sell are great in number. You can sell everything from software to candles over the internet. Some items, especially perishables such as food, are not particularly well suited to online marketing, but some have had success even with those.

There are advantages to selling products online. First, you don’t have to operate out of a retail store space. You need only to have your website and a place to keep your inventory if needed. Second, while this may change in the future, at this time you usually do not have to charge tax on the products you sell. Customers like this benefit and may be more likely to shop online because of it. Finally, related to the first point, your overhead will probably be lower. The costs of running an online business are typically much lower and you will probably need far fewer people on payroll, if any at all.

The type of products you decide to sell online will depend largely on your personal interests and knowledge, and also on the results of the research you conduct to find out what will sell. When you go through the research process, just remember that no matter what, you will eventually find a hot market you can enter. So don’t get frustrated if the first few product markets you look at are saturated already. You will find the profitable one you’re looking for before you’re done!
